Freakonomics
Currently reading this very, very interesting book called Freakonomics: A rogue economists explores the hidden side of everything. Yes, I know...an economic book?! What? But trust me, it is quite useful. For example, the author explains what Chicago public school teachers and Japanese sumo wrestlers have in common, as well as what urban black gangs and Mcdonalds have in common. The first ones cheat and the last one both set up their organizations in the same way to create profits. Of course that is a very short summary, it is quite more detailed than that. He, or they I should say, even claim that the legalization of abortion is what led to a steep decline in the crime rate during the early nineties....I still have to finish that chapter. Now, I like the non-partisan approach to this, the facts speak for themselves regardless of politics and other biases. So pick it up for some useful and mind-expanding reading.

Aladdin is Chinese?!?!
So, I am currently reading A Thousand and One Arabian Nights, the collected tales and myths from the Middle-east, and just started the tale of Aladdin (spelled Aladdean or something in the book), and it starts by "there was a man in a city in China, the country of many cities, and he had a son named Aladdean...." So, does that mean that Aladdin in actuality is chinese? I admit I have not read the entire story yet, but I am completely shocked and somewhat gratified at the same time. It shows that it's always good to read the original source if possible. :)
Like A Virgin
I am a hug fan of blogs, but I read mostly news and political blogs, something I got from trying to educate myself for the presidential elections. And good thing too because now I am very aware of these things and their nature. I have no ideas for my first post but I have an idea of what I want this for, it's an outlet for my creative juices. This is where I will post opinions, writings, poems, and whatnot. Total random stuff....with possible feedback from people. I will need tons of feedback for my writings, so please do!
